FAQs

[DRAFT COPY — for review at Gate 1b]

How does the process work, from first contact to finished job?

You tell us about the job through our guided estimate form or by phone. We arrange a visit to look at the property and talk through what you want. From there we put together a written estimate and, if you go ahead, agree a start date and payment stages before any work begins.

How do I get a quote?

Use Get My Free Estimate to tell us about your job, or call us directly. We visit the property before putting a written estimate together — we do not quote sight unseen.

How long will my project take?

Timescales depend on scope, access, and what turns up once work starts on an older building. We agree a realistic schedule with you before work begins and keep you updated if anything changes.

Are you insured, and is the work guaranteed?

Lorem ipsum [insurance cover details — public liability limit, provider — TJ & Shane to confirm before publishing, per spec amendment C2]

Lorem ipsum [guarantee or warranty terms on completed work — TJ & Shane to confirm]

Do I need planning permission or building regulations approval?

It depends on the job. Some extensions fall under permitted development; structural changes are usually notifiable to building control regardless of planning status. We tell you plainly what your project needs before work starts. This is general guidance, not legal advice — check your specific case with the local planning authority.

Will my house be a mess while you work?

Building work is never completely tidy, but we sheet off work areas, keep dust and debris contained where we can, and clear up at the end of each day. We will tell you upfront which areas of the house are affected and for how long.

How do payments work?

We agree payment stages tied to progress on the job before work starts, set out in writing. You are never asked to pay for work that has not been done.

What areas do you cover?

We work across Chester and the surrounding Cheshire area. If you are unsure whether your address is within reach, ask through the estimate form and we will tell you directly.
